Long summary feed[edit]

  • The list of popular YouTube videos featuring tween girls contains a number of videos with millions of views.
  • No telio is a meme to indicate that one is not a teliophile. E.g., "No teleio, but Emma Watson."
  • Sass is a characteristic kids have that seems to consist of leaning to one side and putting their hand on their hip.
  • John Mordecai Gottman is a professor emeritus in psychology who has written about raising emotionally intelligent children.
  • Zero tolerance laws should be retitled zero-finesse, zero-understanding, zero-empathy and/or zero-context laws.
  • Pedoqueer is a catchall for sexual orientations outside the categories of pedosexuality, orthosexuality, etc.
  • The costs and benefits of having children include impacts on happiness. If one is using happiness research to help decide whether to have kids, the pertinent group of people to compare to non-parents would be those parents who chose to have kids, rather than those who had kids by accident.
  • WikiIndex, founded 2006, is a wiki project intended to document all the wikis available on the Internet, containing an index of wikis, wiki people and wiki ideas. It lists over 20,000 wikis, plus over 800 "inactive" wikis. Wikis are categorised in terms of size, WikiFactor, level of activity and subject matter.
  • Unintended consequences (sometimes unanticipated consequences or unforeseen consequences) are outcomes that are not the ones intended by a purposeful action. An example might be that a law banning kids from possessing nicotine vapor products could lead to their using more harmful cigarettes that they steal from their parents or purchase a pack at a time. Kids would be reluctant to invest in nicotine vapor products that could be confiscated, resulting in a loss of the investment.
  • Asuncion Avila-Villa is a woman who killed her child to conceal the fact that the father of the child was underage.
  • Human Stupidity is a website that criticizes the Copine scale, among other things.
  • A handout is a resource given to someone, e.g. a child, without expectation of repayment, or at a lower-than-market rate of interest, as charity. Handouts can help a person get on their feet, but can also diminish incentives for productive work that would help a person develop job skills and promote a sense of accomplishment. Libertarian theory says that children are not entitled, as a matter of right, to handouts, even from their parents, although people may choose to give them handouts of their own free will.
  • Underpopulation is a state in which a country's population has declined too much to support the desired economic system or production possibilities. Parents have little incentive to have kids when the kids are unable to work to support themselves and are not allowed to have sex with their parents.
  • An underage sex license permits the bearer to engage in consensual sex involving underage persons. Most proposals call for the children to be licensed for sex by passing a competency examination. An alternative would be to license adults to have sex with children by, e.g., providing proof that they have been found by a doctor to be STD-free.
  • Child savers are individuals who, often misguidedly, devote themselves to combating real or imagined harms which children are supposedly subjected to. They became most notably active in the 19th century, in England, where they worked to pass laws to "protect" children.
  • A liberty baby is a child conceived and raised by libertarian parents. The parents may collaborate on home schooling, unschooling, etc.
  • Underoos is a brand of underwear for children, produced by the Fruit of the Loom company.
  • Make Way 4 Kidz is an Italian and English site that favors freedom for children concerning sex, drugs, diseducation, and antifascism.
  • Intergenerational love is a somewhat vague concept that appears to have come into use mainly because people could not think of another short phrase to describe romantic relations between people of ages differing by many years. The divisions between "generations" are somewhat arbitrary, as different eras tend to flow into one another gradually, and being born a year before or after a significant world event does not necessarily impact one's characteristics and life experience much. A late Gen-Xer, for instance, may have a similar childhood as an early Millennial, being exposed to a similar culture, similar technologies, etc. How many years constitute a generation also varies, although it's usually about 20.
  • Pedophile advocacy, pedophilia advocacy, pedophile activism, and pedophilia activism are vague terms, almost always used by opponents of the child sexual liberation movement, that are sometimes used to refer to any non-mainstream opinions about pedosexuality or pedosexual relations.
  • Abd is a user who was told on RationalWiki, "Go back to raping your kids."
  • An asexual is a person who lacks sexual interest in other people. It is commonly stated that children are asexual. However, it is also noted that "As early as ten to 12 months, a young child discovers the pleasurable sensations in handling different parts of his body" and that "Among those between three and six, however, activity is apt to be deliberate, because at this stage, children begin to experience mild sexual feelings." Thus, children are often interested in sexual experimentation with themselves if with no one else.
  • The World's Smallest Political Quiz is a libertarian outreach tool that asks for an opinion concerning the statement, "There should be no laws regarding sex for consenting adults." Presumably the reason that it doesn't ask about "consenting persons" is that the people who administer that quiz probably don't feel like getting into the kinds of discussions that might arise if they asked that.
  • The sale of children is a common trope. E.g., Pete's Dragon and Oliver! had songs about selling children ("Bill of Sale" and "Boy for Sale", respectively).
  • Release from prison, also known as "expulsion from public school", occurs when a person violates a zero tolerance policy.
  • Wikikids is the Dutch encyclopedia for children aged 8-13.
  • Children Who Need to Check Their Privilege is a Tumblr page that states, "people under 18, please stop calling yourselves gay or straight or bisexual or any of those things if you would really only date someone who was also under 18. You are not straight, or gay, or a lesbian - you are a pedophile."
  • "If he told you to jump off a bridge, would you do it" is a question that young people are often asked when they attempt to use as an excuse for their behavior that someone told them to do it. The young person is held responsible for his actions, regardless of who tried to talk him into it. Yet when sex is involved, people say the kid had no choice, even if no one put a gun to his head and said "Do this."
  • "If you touch my kid, I'll fuck you up" is a comment frequently made in age of consent debates by paternalists, to child liberationists who live thousands of miles away and will never meet the paternalist's child. It is usually a signal that the paternalist has shifted from a logical mode of thinking to raw protective animal instincts. It is also usually an empty threat, since most people are unwilling to go to prison for their rest of their lives, and be separated from their families, for the sake of murdering a person they could have sent to prison instead.
  • An Adam and Eve situation is a thought experiment in which people consider what they would do if only two people existed in the world and they could construct a society as they wished, without outside interference. Thus, for example, people can consider whether they would have sex with a much younger partner if there were no laws or social norms to take into consideration.
  • A teleiophilic ally is a person who is primarily attracted to adults who nonetheless supports the rights of those who are primarily attracted to non-adults. Presumably there also are teleiohebephilic allies (or perhaps it would be hebeteleiophilic allies).
  • An adult ally is "a person who is a member of the dominant or majority age group who work to end oppression in his or her personal and professional life through support of, and as an advocate for, young people." "Allies are adults who advocate and support young people. They assist young people in their lives, support them when they struggle, and let them know how important they are and that change is possible."
  • Adult content is content that children allegedly need to be protected from viewing, hearing, etc. The implication is that the content is somehow dangerous to them, and that they won't be able to handle it. Of course, this also means that immature adults probably wouldn't be able to handle it either. An adult who is viewing adult content would presumably need to hide it from view if a child were to approach. Some people may even think it advisable to prevent the child from knowing what type of content he's looking at, lest the child's curiosity be piqued so that he tries to access that type of material. Thus, "adult content" becomes yet another concept that creates divisions between adults and children and keeps them apart. Of course, there is no physical harm that can come to the child from viewing the content, as there would be in the case of other activities such as, say, using fireworks; some sort of potential for psychological harm or corruption is assumed.
  • The arbitrary distinction between children and adults is used to justify all sorts of aggression against, and other ill-treatment of, children.
  • Natural selection is the gradual process by which biological traits become either more or less common in a population as a function of the effect of inherited traits on the differential reproductive success of organisms interacting with their environment. By natural selection, children come to be brave and curious enough to participate in activities that will allow them to learn and gain skills, while being cautious enough to avoid activities whose costs outweigh their benefits. Children's suffering horrible consequences of bad decisions, whether from engaging in too much or not enough risk, helps cull bad genes and memes from the population. Natural selection also tends to produce parents who act in ways that are helpful, rather than destructive, to their children's ability to survive and reproduce. People sometimes argue that children should be protected from the consequences of, say, consensual sex, but natural selection will suffice to ensure that children don't consent to harmful sex; much as rabbits have come to instinctively fear hawks, people could come to instinctively fear sex as children and to later become less fearful, when they reach an age at which they can exercise more sophisticated judgment.
  • Respect is a positive feeling of esteem or deference for a person or other entity. The Global Initiative to End All Corporal Punishment of Children states, "respect should not be confused with fear. 'Good' behaviour due to fear of being punished means that a child is avoiding punishment, not showing respect. Children learn to truly respect people and things when they appreciate their intrinsic worth. When parents hit their children in the name of discipline, children learn to 'behave' only to avoid punishment, and they learn that violence is an acceptable way to handle disputes. But when parents show respect for their children’s and others’ human dignity and integrity, children learn respect."
  • Coming out of the toy box is an expression that means to reveal that one is a pedophile.
  • Emancipation in Virginia is the process in Virginia for being considered an adult before reaching the age of majority.
  • Emancipation of minors is a legal mechanism through which a person below the age of majority gains certain civil rights, generally identical to those of adults. An emancipated minor is free of any authority from his or her parent or other legal guardian. The extension of these rights, as well as the remaining prohibitions, vary according to the jurisdiction. In most countries of the world, adolescents below the legal age of majority may be emancipated somehow: through marriage, economic self-sufficiency, educational degree/diploma or pregnancy. In some cases, parental consent is needed to achieve the "emancipated" status. In some cases, court permission is necessary.
  • Infanticide is the killing of infants. Brian Wolff writes, "Shirley: creating a wiki is like creating a baby, yes you should have a good reason to create one, but if you don't for whatever reason, you should have an _extra_ good reason for killing one". On the other hand, the costs expended for baby production up to that point are sunk costs.
  • Ron Perlman is an actor who dressed up as Hellboy for a kid.
  • Children's right to engage in self-destructive behavior should not be infringed, because it is beneficial from an evolutionary standpoint. It is best if the kids who have a tendency to harm themselves with, say, dangerous activities such as excessive hard drug use, and to not heed warnings of the risks, to get started as soon as possible wrecking their health and appearance, so that they can diminish their prospects of survival and reproduction early on. This way, those genes and memes that cause those behaviors can be weeded out more efficiently. Certain potentially self-destructive behaviors, such as smoking, engaged in by large numbers of children, so early on they are having to hide their behavior from their parents and other "authority" figures. It would be more healthy for parent-child relationships if the parents did not have to worry about the legal consequences of their children engaging in these behaviors. It would be ethically acceptable for parents to threaten to cut off support for a child if he were to continue harming himself, but it might merely compound the problem.
  • Sex is an activity that has a number of benefits for the children who partake of it. The process of orgasm and sexual arousal releases a mesmeric elixir of natural pain killers and relaxers. These include oxytocin, which can lower blood pressure and heart rate. Oxtocin, in turn, produces a rush of endorphins and corticosteroids. Sex, as a form of play, can be expected to have the same benefits that one can expect of other kinds of play. It can also strengthen the pelvic floor, relieve stress, and help children sleep. An illustration of children having sex is unfortunately unavailable.
  • Free play is play that is structured by the participants, rather than by an outside authority. It is sometimes referred to as "unstructured play" but this is a misnomer because all play has structure. Free play gives children an opportunity to design the rules of their games according to their own ideas and learn how to behave in ways that will keep the other participants happy so that they will continue playing. Free playtime has been increasingly replaced by schoolwork and extracurricular activities organized by adults, in which the child's role is merely to obey orders. The decline in children's opportunities for free play has been accompanied by a decrease in empathy and creative thinking.
  • Children's right to cultivate, distribute, possess, and consume cannabis should not be infringed, since children have a right to do whatever they want with their own bodies and property. Cannabis is a safer alternative for enjoyable recreation than alcohol, and as the enhancement smoker noted on Half Baked, can make good experiences even better. Cultivating cannabis gives children an opportunity to learn horticulture skills. Buying and selling it teaches them about economics, business administration, and the metric system. Cannabis can also make children more peaceful and mellow. It would also be cheaper than other forms of entertainment in a legal market.
  • Children's right to possess and consume alcohol should not be infringed, because the child has sovereignty over his own body and property. Alcohol can make playtime more fun. Also, legalization of children's possession and use of alcohol would take away the risk of their ending up in the juvenile justice system for victimless crimes. The drinking age has the unintended consequence of giving young people who illegally possess alcohol a reason to drink their entire supply in order to avoid being caught with it. It also creates divisions among generations by preventing them from partaking of the same activities together. The drinking age inconveniences those who are of age, and the vendors who serve them, by requiring the drinker to carry and show ID in order to make an alcohol purchase. Although some young people may be inclined to have drinking problems, natural selection will take care of it in the long run by weeding out those who put their chances of survival and reproduction at risk. It might even be beneficial to evolution for children to have the opportunity to begin drinking before puberty, so that potential alcoholics can be destroyed before they mate. The consumption of alcohol by children also potentially makes their initial sexual experiences less awkward by reducing inhibitions.
  • A horsey ride is a simulated horse ride in which a human (usually of equal or greater size than the rider) plays the role of the horse. One writer commented that horsey rides can be used to explain away to children sexual behavior that the parents are caught engaging in: "just say daddie is giving u a horsee ride...lol works for my son". Someone responded, "YOU ARE RIDICULOUS! what if the child want a turn?" What if, indeed. Infant and Child Sexuality notes, "Janie (2) walked in on her parents making love. She wanted to be a part of the intimacy and so climbed on top of her father and thought it was a fun game to ride on the 'horsie.' This was repeated at other times." The article Sex without Shame notes, "One little girl did develop a passionate interest in playing "horsey." She wrapped her legs about my body and ecstatically rubbed her pubis up and down." The article Intergenerational Sexual Contact notes, "Many deny at first but later retrieve memories of genital/erotic pleasure associated with such things as playing 'horsey' on an adult's knee".
  • The right to drive should be extended to children since it would tend to further their autonomy and therefore the well-being of all. Since self-driving cars are on the horizon, the issue of children's ability to drive safely will probably largely be mooted eventually. In the meantime, there are many potential advantages to allowing children to drive. These include, for instance, the ability of children to serve as designated drivers to bring drunken parents safely home, which would keep both the family and other motorists safer. Children could also more easily exercise their right to work if they could drive, and driving could help enable them to flee unpleasant situations and migrate to environments more conducive to their development. There are accounts of it being commonplace for Saudi Arabian boys not much older than 10 to drive cars.
  • Cathy Reisenwitz is an anarcho-capitalist who has spoken out against pornography regulations. She states, "While many people reasonably find depictions of rape disgusting, unfortunately porn bans only work to allow governments to continue to ignore the real sources of violence against women while restricting citizens’ right to free speech."
  • Amanda Platell is a Daily Mail reporter who viewed child porn as part of her job assignment.
  • Nick Ross is a former Crimewatch presenter who said that he'd probably watch child porn.
  • "Divide and rule" is the motto of those who seek to use people's animosity against childlovers, and people's belief that children belong to a separate class of people than adults, as a way of creating divisions among the people so as to make them easier to rule.
  • Objectification means treating a person as a commodity or an object, without regard to their personality or dignity.
  • The confinement of children to cages in which they will be kept under 24-hour surveillance is one proposed way to protect them from harm.
  • Sunday school is a prison in which children do penance for the evil conscience of their parents.
  • The existence of the slippery slope phenomenon is one of the reasons why adult-child sex should be legalized. People can always say, "Well, we don't let children have sex with adults, so why should we let them do x?" This becomes an excuse to ban children from x. Thus, it is not just sexual freedom at stake, but other freedoms as well.
  • Breastfeeding is the feeding of an infant or young child with breast milk directly from female human breasts. According to one text, "The most salient place of contact in the infant's body is the bioenergetically highly charged mouth and throat. This body organ reaches out immediately for gratification. If the nipple of the mother reacts to the infant's sucking movements in a biophysically normal manner with sensations of pleasure, it will become strongly erect and the orgonotic excitation of the nipple will become one with that of the infant's mouth, just as in the orastically gratifying sexual act, in which the male and female genitals luminate and fuse orgonotically. There is nothing 'abnormal' or 'disgusting' in this. Every healthy mother experiences the sucking as pleasure and yields to it. . . . However, about 80 percent of all women suffer from vaginal anaesthesia and frigidity. Their nipples are correspondingly anorgonotic, i.e. 'dead.' The mother may develop anxiety or loathing in response to what would naturally be a sensation of pleasure aroused in the breast by the infant's sucking. This is why so many mothers do not want to nurse their babies."
  • The bonobo is, along with chimps, one of the species genetically closest to humans.
  • I'm Shady is an Eminem song in which he sings, "I like funny things that make me happy and gleeful (hehehe) / Like when my teacher sucked my wee-wee in preschool (Woo!)"
  • Secession is the action of withdrawing formally from membership of a federation or family. The right of children to secede from their families helps safeguard their other rights.
  • A grade is a score indicating how obedient and proficient a student was in following the teacher's orders.
  • A teacher is a person with whom students sometimes have sex. It has been noted, in response to news stories stating, e.g., "Teacher Elizabeth Marie Moss Allegedly Performs Oral Sex On 13-Year-Old Student" that it might be more appropriate to headline the story, "Another 13 yr old boy fucks his teacher"; Why oh why is the emphasis always on the teacher...
  • The U.S. Sentencing Guidelines set out guidelines concerning how federal defendants are to be sentenced for child porn convictions. The U.S. Sentencing Commission recommends that judges focus on whether offenders are members of a group that communicates about child porn online. Thus, further infringements of freedom of association appear to be on the way.
  • Daniel Enrique Guevara Vilca is a guy who got sentenced to life in prison for possessing child porn.
  • Lemonade Freedom Day is when civil disobedience against government health and other regulations concerning lemonade stands is practiced.
  • Huffington Post is a website that supports child pornography legalization.
  • Mealtime is an event in which children are often forced to eat food they don't want. Some parents simply tell their children, "You don't have to eat."
  • Facebook is a venue for sharing information about children, parenting, etc.
  • Child Protect is an organization whose stated mission "is to interview, counsel and be an advocate for children when there are allegations of abuse." So in other words, they undoubtedly narc to the cops about consensual activity, in many cases.
  • Wikipedia's child protection policy was changed on 5 April 2013 to empower the ArbCom to ban users for off-wiki comments those users made condoning pedosexual relationships.
  • The National Council for Civil Liberties is an organization the supported numerous sex law reforms. It is interesting that critics make such a big deal about the National Council for Civil Liberties's proposing the age of consent be lowered to 10. In 1576, during the reign of Elizabeth I, the age of consent was lowered from 12 to 10. Thus, the NCCL was just advocating a return to traditional values; one would think conservatives would be gung-ho supportive of that.
  • A beauty pageant is a competition that mainly focuses on the physical beauty of its contestants, although such contests also incorporate personality, intelligence, talent, and answers to judges' questions as judged criteria. There has been some talk of banning kids from beauty pageants. One might well ask, Why not let the kids make their own decisions rather than using it as a feminist wedge issue? They want to control youth in order to influence the culture as a whole. If kids are banned from beauty pageants, then it sends the message that adult participation in beauty pageants is suspect too. They basically want to treat it like pornography, which comes as no surprise because they've been expanding the boundaries of what counts as porn for some time now.
  • Accusations of production, distribution or possession of child pornography not involving sexual touching have resulted in many prosecutions.
  • Attachment parenting is a style of parenting that consists of the 7 B's put forth by William Sears.
  • The Natural Child Project is an organization whose stated "vision is a world in which all children are treated with dignity, respect, understanding, and compassion." They advocate breastfeeding, co-sleeping, and other attachment parenting practices.
  • Controlled crying, or "graduated extinction", is a technique for getting children to stop crying by depriving them of attention. It apparently is effective at stopping the crying, but there is speculation that it may have harmful effects.
  • Evidence of child sexual assault can include witness testimony, physical injuries, and photographic records, among other things. The photographic records are illegal for anyone but the government to possess or distribute. It would be perfectly legal for someone to distribute an audio recording of a child's being sexually assaulted, or a written account. It is only visual depictions that are prohibited pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 2252. Furthermore, photographs of non-sexual assaults would be entirely legal.
  • google.com/protectchildren is a site whose ad appears in response to certain search inquiries, such as "child porn", and warns, "Child abuse imagery is illegal. If you see it, report it". It also states, "At Google we work with child protection experts to find, remove and report this material because we never want it to appear anywhere on our products, including our search results. To report child sexual abuse content or to find help for a child in the US, please contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children." Interestingly, Google doesn't ask users to report child sexual abuse, but rather child sexual abuse content. Thus, the focus is not on stopping the abuse, but rather on stopping the distribution of the photographic records of the abuse.
  • UnderageChildGuard.org is one of the many websites that appears as a sponsored result when certain google searches concerning sex and children are made. The site warns, "Looking for pedophile, rape victims, free kiddie porn, little virgins, boy forced, girl first time blood, child forced, breaking virginity of a girl pictures? You're Not Anonymous. Don't kid yourself. Looking at this stuff is illegal. Owning, or even searching for, pornographic pictures of children makes you complicit in the sexual exploitation of minors." How merely searching for such porn could have any effect on actual children is unclear, and apparently no mainstream person dares to ask. It is also unclear whether "Don't kid yourself" is an intentional or unintentional pun.
  • The Sexual Revolution and Children is an article that appeared in Spiegel concerning events that occurred at Commune 2 in Berlin circa 1968.
  • Mistie Rebecca Atkinson is a woman who was busted for having sex with her teenage son.
  • Self-Ownership, Abortion, and the Rights of Children is some conservative garbage that appeared in the Journal of Libertarian Studies in 2004. It abandons the principle of personal responsibility, and therefore also abandons liberty.
  • The phrase "consenting adults" is one that is to be avoided in conversations about expanding liberty because the proposal being set forth that uses that phrase will typically do nothing to help children.
  • StopSpanking.org is an organization that advocates refraining from spanking because it is an adverse childhood experience.
  • Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal is a webcomic by Zach Weinersmith.
  • Child sexual assault is any involuntary sexual act in which a child is threatened, coerced, or forced to engage in sex against his will, or any sexual touching of a child who has not consented. This includes rape (such as forced vaginal, anal or oral penetration), groping, forced kissing, or the torture of the victim in a sexual manner.
  • George Orwell is an author who wrote about such concepts as "sexcrime" and "goodsex".
  • The Libertarian Alliance is an organization that support's children's liberation. It has stated, "Does it really matter whether a young child has experienced any form of sexual arousal before? Does it really matter whether the child has any understanding of sex? Sex is just another source of pleasure, a potentially potent source perhaps, but basically little differ- ent to any other. If there is nothing objectionable about an adult giving a child sweets or toys, why is giving sexual pleasure wrong? It is ludicrous to reply that the adult is ‘abusing’ the child for his or her own pleasure. Such an attitude implies a hatred of all pleasure gained through voluntary exchange to mutual benefit. Altruists, conservatives and some socialists may think this way, but no rational person should do so after contemplating the implications. And why is it abuse? Below the age of twelve or so, a child may not be particularly interested in seeking sexual relations but that doesn’t mean he or she will not voluntarily accept and enjoy them."
  • The School Sucks Project is an anti-school organization. It states that "The 15,000-hour process of compulsory schooling has a dramatic effect on the mind of a child. When we first enter these institutions at age six, many of our best personal attributes are already in place. We are curious, innovative, unique, creative and hopeful in ways that we will rarely be able to replicate throughout the rest of our lives. But over time, school sucks those essential attributes out of too many of us…and replaces them with predictability, obedience and apathy."
  • The peaceful parenting movement encourages maintaining order in one's household without using aggression against one's children. Many of these techniques involve listening to children rather than merely telling them what to do. Laura Markham calls for using "healthy limits, empathy, and clear communication to raise a self-disciplined child" and states that peaceful parents "reflect before we react, looking for the reason behind our child's behavior."
  • The freedom of disassociation is the right to stop associating with someone. The parent ultimately has the right to tell his child, "Clean out your toy box; you're fired" and the child has the right to turn in his resignation at any time. Workers already often feel oppressed by their bosses; imagine how bad it would be if they could not quit at any time. Also, workers misbehave a great deal even when they can be fired at any time; imagine how difficult it would be to maintain discipline if the laws did not provide for employment at will.
  • Samuel Reshevsky was a chess prodigy who learned to play chess at age four, and at age eight was beating accomplished players with ease, and giving simultaneous exhibitions. In November 1920, his parents moved to the U.S. to make a living exhibiting their child. Reshevsky played thousands of games in exhibitions all over the U.S. He played in the 1922 New York Masters tournament; at that stage he was likely the youngest player to have competed in a strong tournament.
  • A euphemism is a generally innocuous word or expression used in place of one that may be found offensive or suggest something unpleasant.
  • "School" is a euphemism for "daytime detainment center". The functions of such daytime detainment centers are to waste a large portion of minors' lives, to grossly violate minors' freedom of movement by forcing them to sit in desks at length, to violate minors' auditory freedom by forcing them to listen to a teacher talk at length, to violate minors' freedom of association by putting them together with many other people at random, and to violate minors' freedom of privacy the whole time. The purpose of all of such functions is to make parents, 'teachers', and adults in general, feel a sense of dominance over the minors.
  • A rationalization is a dissident opinion that the government views as being a cognitive distortion or self-serving justification. Implicit is the accusation that the person is putting forth the opinion in bad faith. This is an appeal to motive.
  • A pedophile organization is one that is deemed to support or condone pedophilia.
  • Exploitation is what others deem it to be when you engage in an activity with a person that others believe is contrary to that person's long-term interests, but which he is unable to resist for whatever reason.
  • Collectivism is a highly tyrannical practice, in which force is used to eliminate the natural unequal consequences of the innate intrinsic differences between individuals. One manifestation of collectivist tyranny is in the daytime detainment centers, called 'schools', which forcibly teach all students at the same very slow pace, regardless of the students' contrasting innate intelligence, learning capability, and drive. One collectivist self-deluding lie, which collectivists try to tyrannically force upon others, is that human subspecies, aka race, are a so-called 'social construct' (which more-or-less means 'made up'), despite all of the biological evidence. Collectivism is a manifestation of the underlying emotion of antagonistic aggression.
  • 'Racism' is a very vague word, which serves the purpose of antagonistic aggression. Race is not particularly important to supporters of youth liberation, being as race merely has correlations to the relevant character traits, with overlapping bellcurves of character, rather than any absolute correspondence.
  • In order for youth liberation to be attained, the proponents thereof must have an effective strategy. The most critical aspect of the youth liberation strategy is to spread the relevant knowledge of innate psychology to the right people, which in turn leads to the extensive breeding of people who have the necessary innate psychological traits. Without such psychological knowledge and consequent breeding, failure is guaranteed. But the strategy must consist of more than just that.
  • 'Peace and love' are values that are promoted by supporters of authoritarian and/or collectivist tyranny- typically covert supporters thereof, being as they serve to render individuals blindly content and ineffectual, thus perpetuating the tyrannical status quo.
  • 'Violence' is a word that is often used for libellous purposes by supporters of authoritarian and/or collectivist tyranny- both overt supporters and undercover supporters. The word is used to characterize objective efficient actions that are often necessary to eliminate such tyranny- actions that are only incidentally violent, and even such actions that are not violent at all(!). The purpose of that is to libellously portray a person's motive for necessary actions against tyranny as being 'violence for the sake of violence', which is used as a false pretense under which to persecute any supporters of freedom who aren't ineffectual naive fools.
  • The word 'abuse', in the correct sense of the term, refers to some form of aggressive battery, except in the phrase 'abuse of power', in which it means 'gross misuse of power'. However, the word is often misused, and often for deliberately deceptive purposes. "Emotional abuse" can mean that a person was "insulting", "mean", "neglectful", "critical", "irritable", or whatever the case might be; but it's not specified. "Physical abuse" or "sexual abuse" could mean "physical assault" or "sexual assault" respectively or it could mean what is "inappropriate behavior" in the eyes of person judging.
  • Curiosity is inquisitiveness impelling one to exploration or investigation. Some people may turn to child pornography for the same reasons of curiosity that makes people watch Two Girls, One Cup. They do not necessarily want to engage in the activities depicted.
  • Authoritarianism is a highly tyrannical practice, in which individuals are coerced into obedience to authority figures, coerced into only allowing authority figures to administer punishment, coerced into regarding authority figures as the only reliable source of knowledge, have their property controlled by authority figures, have their movement controlled by authority figures, and/or are forbidden from exercising their natural rights of self-defense against authority figures or escape from authority figures. Adult supremacism is the most prevalent type of authoritarianism. Authoritarianism is a manifestation of the underlying emotion of dominance.
  • Les Misérables, by Victor Hugo, is a novel in which one of the heroes is Gavroche, a street child who eventually joins the revolutionaries in the barricades.
  • There is no such psychological trait as 'stubbornness'. People who desire dominance may however delude themselves into believing that such a trait exists in others (similar to an 'attitude delusion'), in which case it means "persistently disobedient to my commands, and/or the commands of people who I associate with myself". But in truth, a person may disobey such commands for a variety of reasons.
  • Productivity is a trait that young people are perhaps best-disposed to have. Children are often criticized as being lazy and not taking work seriously. This does not prevent them from taking play seriously, however. Children, being naive and inexperienced, have not yet become jaded and therefore still work with youthful enthusiasm. "Stubborn" children who don't listen to others and seem to need to learn everything the hard way may perhaps be the hardest and most entrepreneurial workers of all, because they don't listen to naysayers.
  • Disruptive aggression encompasses both dominant aggression and antagonistic aggression. It is called 'disruptive' because its psychological motive is to disrupt truth, justice, beauty, humility, objectivity, efficiency, and the freedom of such things. It may also be called 'psychological aggression', because it is aggression that is done for its own sake, as contrasted with selfish aggression, which is done for secondary reasons.
  • A train set is a classic toy.
  • A Clockwork Orange, by Anthony Burgess, is a futuristic novel in which the protagonist has sex with two girls who "couldn't have been more than ten".
  • Free will is a convincing illusion, which one usually can not be blamed for believing in. Many believers in free will believe and say that determinism removes a person's culpability. But that is a logical fallacy, because it is in fact intent that determines culpability, and intent is caused primarily by the genes, whereas free will believers typically conflate intent with free will.
  • Homeschooling is essential for youth liberation, at least at the current time and the foreseeable future, with the so-called 'schools' being as tyrannical as they are. Homeschooling allows freedom-supporting parents to teach their children in a much more efficient manner, which frees the children from long daytime detainments in so-called 'schools', paperwork slavery, and the forced learning of useless fiction knowledge. One of the advantages of home schooling is that it makes the child always available in the home for sex, should both parties be in the mood.
  • Youth liberation is the liberation of minors (people under 18 years of age) from adult-supremacist tyranny. It includes both child liberation and adolescent liberation. Attaining youth liberation requires an effective strategy.
  • Perversion is the desire for things that are detrimental to oneself, or to one's group or tribe, or, at worst, to the species as a whole.
  • 'Memes' is a word that is so broad that it is nearly useless. The word is often falsely used to mean 'beliefs'. However, the correct definition of the word is much broader than that, as it encompasses many other things, such as customs, clothing styles and hair styles, fads, jokes, sayings... anything that can possibly be passed from one person to another.
  • Symbiotic aggression refers to the social symbiosis that exists between dominant aggression and antagonistic aggression. Antagonistic aggressors disrupt the knowledge and actions that are necessary to eliminate dominant aggressors from power- most importantly genetic determinism, prolific breeding of the necessary psychological traits, sterilization, and killing/execution. Dominant aggressors, in turn, promote said antagonistic-aggressive ineffectuality among their subjugated people, so as to prevent themselves (the dominant aggressors) from being removed from power.
  • Personalization libel is one of the hallmark disruptive behaviors of antagonistic aggression, though it also occurs to some extent as a result of dominant aggression. Personalization libel consists of falsely portraying a person's objective motive as being a trivial selfish motive that is related to themself personally. For example, suppose that a person's motive is "to kill a sociopath" (which is an objective motive); a second person, who perpetrates personalization libel (which, notably, is itself a sociopathic behavior) might say that the first person's motive is "to kill people who disagree with you."
  • The deepest intrinsic value of a conscious being, person or animal, is their innate humility and objectivity, and their absence of the opposite innate traits- dominant aggression and antagonistic aggression. An individual with humility and objectivity has positive intrinsic value, whereas an individual with dominant aggression and/or antagonistic aggression has negative intrinsic value.
  • Anti-pedosexual fanaticism, aka anti-pedophile fanaticism, is a strong innate hatred of pedosexuals that is motivated by the emotion of dominance. It is clear from the reactions of anti-pedosexual fanatics that adult-child sexual interactions violate their sense of dominance. Many of such people also have a 'witch-hunter mentality', in which they delude themselves into perceiving pedosexuality where pedosexuality is not present.
  • Circumcision is the non-consensual amputation of the foreskin (aka prepuce) of the penis, usually of a male infant, or in the islamic world, a male child. Some argue it is one of the most severe forms of aggression against infants or children involving the sexual organs, and that its severity is equalled or exceeded only by clitoris amputation and other vaginal mutilation, rape that transmits a permanent venereal disease, and drug-induced permanent sexual dysfunction. The end of the foreskin contains a ring of tissue called 'the ridged band', which is allegedly the most sexually sensitive part of the penis . The ridged band usually slides up and down along the glans during sexual intercourse or masturbation.
  • Erik Möller, Deputy Director of the Wikimedia Foundation, is a person who was labelled a pedophile for his statements that were deemed insufficiently condemnatory of adult-child sex under all circumstances.
  • The subpoena of mental health records for judicial proceedings is a means by which evidence of pedophilia can be obtained against those who have not committed a sex offense involving children. During civil commitment proceedings or preparation of a presentence investigation report for an offense unrelated to sex or children, the judge or probation officer working on his behalf can obtain a copy of the person's mental health records. That information can be used against the person in determining whether he has a mental illness that makes him a danger to others that requires that his liberty be restricted in order to protect the public (e.g. pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 3553(a)(2)(C)).
  • Antagonistic aggression is an innate psychological trait, that is the opposite of objectivity. One of the hallmark behaviors of antagonistic aggression is personalization libel.
Another hallmark behavior of antagonistic aggression is to libellously portray objectivity as dominance.
  • A playground, playpark, or play area is a place with a specific design for (usually children to) play.
  • Child pornography distribution as a form of speech is a concept that has not yet been approved by the courts. On the other hand, there is some concern that, in trying to punish child pornographers, particularly through laws such as the Child Online Protection Act, courts will also criminalize speech that should be protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. It has sometimes been pointed out that overbroad laws could turn even a production of "Romeo and Juliet" into a criminal act. Judge Lowell A. Reed Jr. argued, "perhaps we do the minors of this country harm if First Amendment protections, which they will with age inherit fully, are chipped away in the name of their protection."
  • Behavior by females that is labelled child sexual abuse can consist of a variety of behaviors such as assault by penetration (for example, rape or oral sex) or non-penetrative acts such as masturbation, kissing, rubbing and touching outside of clothing. They may also include non-contact activities, such as involving children in looking at, or in the production of, sexual images, watching sexual activities, encouraging children to behave in sexual ways, or grooming a child in preparation for abuse (including via the internet). Some literature seems to indicate a higher-than-expected number of reports of women engaging in "child sexual abuse".
  • The Hitler Youth was a youth program that was created by Adolf Hitler's regime. By 1930 it had enlisted over 25,000 boys aged 14 and upwards. There was also a junior branch, the Deutsches Jungvolk, for boys aged 10 to 14. Girls from 10 to 18 were given their own parallel organisation, the Bund Deutscher Mädel (BDM), League of German Girls.
  • Freedom of speech is the political right to communicate one's opinions and ideas using one's body and property to anyone who is willing to receive them. In the case of Osborne v. Ohio, 495 U.S. 103 (1990), the dissenting justices stated, "When speech is eloquent and the ideas expressed lofty, it is easy to find restrictions on them invalid. But were the First Amendment limited to such discourse, our freedom would be sterile indeed. Mr. Osborne's pictures may be distasteful, but the Constitution guarantees both his right to possess them privately and his right to avoid punishment under an overbroad law."
  • Execution is the orderly killing of a person(s) who is under one's control. While capital punishment is explicitly done for the purpose of punishment, execution may be done for any reason. One such reason is prophylactics, meaning that the purpose of the execution is not so much to punish, but rather to prevent certain future actions from being done by the person who is executed. It serves as a sort of instant negative eugenics that eliminates the genetic alleles that underlie the neuropsychological traits that underlie the particular crime, when applicable.
  • Eugenics is the belief and practice of improving the genetic quality of the human population. The immediate reaction most people have to a mention of the word "eugenics" is "That's a tool used to oppress and even eliminate minority races." However, all of us who procreate, or have friends who do, try to practice eugenics in a way. We see or hear of a potential mate and tell ourselves or our friend, 'Ah, c'mon, you can do better for yourself and your kids. You want to pass on good genes, don't you?'" Within the micro-community of one's family then, one is attempting to practice eugenics. Execution of those who perpetrate aggression can also contribute to eugenic progress.
  • Terminological difficulties, in which it is difficult to come up with terms that express the desired concepts accurately and precisely, have been a major source of discord in the community of people who support legalizing sexual interactions between adults, children, and adolescents.
  • Sexual maturity is the age or stage at which a person can safely reproduce. It is sometimes considered synonymous with adulthood. Both males and females become fertile at the average age of 13. In the case of females however, secondary sexual traits are necessary for safe reproduction, and these are not attained until the average age of 16. Aldous Huxley's Brave New World notes, "While at thirteen a man is not yet sexually mature; and is only full-grown at twenty. Hence, of course, that fruit of delayed development, the human intelligence."
  • Parentally granted privileges, according to statutes and regulations, include parental companionship (e.g. conversation, playtime together, and physical affection), all physical resources provided by the parent beyond what is necessary to maintain a minimal standard of living, all childcare beyond said minimum, and so on. Children's desire for these amenities varies; e.g. some children hate their parents and regard their company as undesirable. "Necessities" are deemed an entitlement right to which the child has a claim against the parent. Classically liberal theory makes no distinction between the two and holds that the parent has power to dispose of all of his labor and property as he sees fit, without regard to his child's needs or desires. Thus, the discipline that can be imposed by the parent is potentially enhanced since he can withdraw even necessities as a punishment; in a free society, however, this is balanced by the child's right to run away from home at any age and his right to work and freedom of association, including the right to join a new family.
  • Parentally imposed punishment can consist of spanking, time-out (short-term imprisonment), grounding (longer-term imprisonment), and suspension or revocation of parentally granted privileges.
  • Homework consists of non-practical work assigned to students by their teachers to be done outside the class, so as to fuel teachers' and parents' sense of dominance. If students refuse to do it, then the teacher will typically penalize their grade. Some parents impose other punishments as well for not doing homework, so as to re-assert their dominance over the child.
  • The term orthosexual means "being sexually attracted only to sexually mature individuals of the opposite sex, and of the same species". The term appears to be a back-formationfrom "orthodox sexuality". Orthosexual people would appear to fall into the overly-broad (and therefore essentially useless) category of 'minor-attracted persons', since most humans reach physical/sexual maturity at the end of puberty, and prior to the age of 18. Little physical development is observed past the late teen years. Physical/sexual maturity is usually attained by around age 16, plus or minus a year, with variability in this age due to differential development.
  • The age of majority is the age at which a person is legally considered an adult, and is allowed their main legal rights. The age of majority is usually 18.
  • A ceiling fan is an air circulation device that poses a potential danger to children's heads. Children may receive cuts, bruises and tendon damage when being accidentally tossed into the fan, in play, by a parent or when playing on bunk beds or furniture near ceiling fans. Children may receive skull fractures or limb fractures when struck by the blades of a ceiling fan. Children often get hurt jumping into fans as their bedtime approaches, a study in the Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health found.
  • Puberty is the beginning of the process of physical changes by which a child's body matures into an adult body capable of sexual reproduction, or more broadly it can refer to this entire process, in which case it is synonymous with adolescence. On average, girls begin puberty at ages 10–11; boys at ages 11–12.

Many people arbitrarily say that only a child who has reached puberty can consent to sexual relations. This disregards that the Tanner scale and other models of childhood development show that maturation does not occur in the form of a switching on of a binary mechanism. It also is a non sequitur because it does not indicate by what logic "old enough to breed" should be considered synonymous with "old enough to have sex". Many people who consider themselves financially or otherwise unready for childbearing still consider themselves ready for sex. Prepubertal infertility might even have evolved partly for the purpose of allowing children to experiment with their sexuality without having to worry about pregnancy.

  • Harris Mirkin was a professor who stirred outrage for an article he wrote about pedophilia.
  • The youth rights movement is a movement of mostly older teenagers and their allies who seek to make incremental changes to the laws discriminating against minors. They avoid identifying themselves with children's liberation since that term doesn't include adolescents.
  • RationalWiki is a MediaWiki-powered website devoted mostly to wiki-horseplay and to mocking, and occasionally critiquing, non-leftist, non-atheist belief systems. Its article on children was switched over on 8 January 2008 to a comic sans MS font, but this was reverted on 31 July 2009, probably because it made the article harder to read. Currently, RationalWiki has no articles that deal with the topic of sex with children, or the desire to engage in the same, in very much detail, other than rationalwiki:child sexual abuse, rationalwiki:NAMBLA, and a few others.
  • The United States Sentencing Commission is an agency of the judicial branch of the federal government of the United States that establishes sentencing policies and practices for the Federal courts. It has released two reports on child pornography sentencing guidelines, the 2009 The History of the Child Pornography Guidelines and the 2012 Report to the Congress: Federal Child Pornography Offenses.
  • In order to attain youth liberation, and freedom in general, there is a certain combination of innate psychological traits that is required.
  • E-Verify is an Internet-based, free program run by the United States government that compares information from employee's Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 to data from U.S. government records.
  • A skirt is a tube- or cone-shaped garment that hangs from the waist and covers all or part of the legs. It is sometimes deemed alluring because of the tantalizing potential for the panties (or body parts normally covered by panties, if the person has opted not to wear undergarments) to be revealed under certain circumstances.
  • Adolescence is the third stage of human growth, which comes after childhood and before adulthood. Adolescence begins with puberty, which is usually the beginning of physical sexual development. Adolescence continues with general growth as well as sexually dimorphic development, and culminates into adulthood when said growth and development becomes mature. Physical sexual development is not uniform for all people, due to the principle of differential development.
  • Pigtails are braids of tightly woven hair, often worn by girls but sometimes by women as well.
  • A schoolgirl is a girl, typically in uniform, who attends school. Schoolgirls are often deemed alluring, perhaps because their age is a known quantity and their outfits scream chastity/purity (which is one half of the paradoxical faithful/virgin slut fantasy). A group of girls wearing the same uniform have no differences in clothing to distract from the differences in their bodies.
  • Plaid is a pattern that is often alluring when used on skirts or dresses, perhaps because it has the schoolgirl look. It is less boring than a plain pattern, but not so complicated as to be too busy.
  • A beach is a landform along the shoreline of an ocean, sea, lake, or river that is often suitable as a play area for children.
  • Panties (typically called knickers in British English) are a form of underwear designed to be worn by women and girls in the crotch area below the waist.
  • Lingerie are fashionable and typically alluring undergarments for women or girls.
  • Pajamas are clothes often worn by people, especially children, to bed. Some people may find the sight of others wearing pajamas alluring in that, like lingerie, they are loungewear, often revealing of the contours of the body, worn around the house, and are associated with comfort, casualness and close proximity to bed.
  • A forest, also referred to as a wood or the woods, is an area with a high density of trees, which many children find suitable for playing in. The Calvin and Hobbes comic strip often shows its main characters exploring the woods.
  • The Family Research Council is an anti-gay, anti-pedophile organization that has been labelled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. This was because its President, Tony Perkins, claimed that pedophilia is a "homosexual problem".
  • A hug is a near universal form of physical intimacy, in which two people put their arms around the neck, back, or waist of one another and hold each other closely. In the 2010s, it was becoming increasingly common among teenagers as a greeting. Some schools have introduced no-hugging policies, citing worries about sexual harassment and clogged hallways.
  • Opposition to pedophile activism consists of activities directing at impeding the agenda of child sexual liberation. Infringing the rights of pedophiles infringes the rights of children as well by limiting the freedom of association.
  • ensis wiki is a rather mysterious anti-pedophile activism website owned and operated by unknown parties. Although it calls itself a wiki, it does not appear to use any known wiki engine. The site has some homophobic content, e.g. a statement that "Perhaps the most tragic aspect of the homosexual-pedophile connection is the fact that men who sexually molest boys all too often lead their victims into homosexuality and pedophilia."
  • Objectivity is an innate psychological state that allows one to see that different individuals have significant intrinsic differences between each other, as opposed to mere trivial intrinsic differences. A person with objectivity is therefore strongly inclined to support individual freedom, execution and killing in general, eugenic selection, freedom of association, self-determination, natural consequences of freedom and self-determination, and if possible, fair naturalistic competition.
  • imgsrc.ru is a site with some rather unrestrictive norms concerning the images that may be posted. Users openly post under such names as "im_a_pedo". However, some of the more interesting-looking galleries tend to be password-protected. There has been at least one case in which child pornography posted to imgsrc.ru was traced back to the person who posted it, leading to criminal prosecution.
  • A non-sexual pedophile is a person who likes or loves some children, and is attracted to them in a non-sexual way. Said non-sexual attraction is often mediated by postsynaptic prolactin receptors, as is typically the case with attraction to pets. Non-sexual pedophilia is more common in women than men, because women have more prolactin on average. Non-sexual pedophiles greatly outnumber pedosexuals. Non-sexual pedophiles, and especially male non-sexual pedophiles, must be very careful in the presence of anti-pedophile fanatics, who are inclined to delude themselves into perceiving them as pedosexuals.
  • 3637 is a Russian user who has posted a number of images of small children to imgsrc.ru. He has stated, "j’aime les petite fille j'aime les voir nue et et j'aime voir leur petit sexe toute douce et petite fesse douce qui cache leur anus toue rose et leur petite poitrine."
  • Ideological tyranny is large-scale organized tyranny that serves to give psychological gratification to its perpetrators.
  • The European Union (EU) is an economic and political union of 28 member states that are located primarily in Europe.
  • Freedom is a less-pretentious-sounding word for liberty. Freedom is the absence of ideological tyranny and the personal psychological tyranny that it derives from, and selfish exploitive tyranny.
  • Libido is an emotion that causes physical sexual arousal, and motivates sexual interaction. The sensation of libido is mediated by postsynaptic D5 dopamine receptors. There are also presynaptic oxytocin receptors which mediate increased libidinous dopaminergic activity downstream.
  • NYRA stands for 'National Youth Rights Association'. It is apparently an organization comprised of young people who want to get drunk and party.
  • Differential development is a principle of human growth that complicates the impact of rigid age-of-consent laws.
  • Conscientiousness is an innate psychological trait. It is the opposite of carelessness.
  • JailbaitGallery.com is a site with more than 100,000 images of teenage girls. Users are allowed to guess their ages, and the average of the guesses is posted in the 'Youngest & Oldest' section. It is not clear those averages are means or medians.
  • Jailbait is a slang term for a person who is physically sexually mature, and attractively so, but is under the legal 'age of consent'. One slogan sometimes used with reference to jailbait is, "If it didn't make you want it, it wouldn't be bait." Many females who constitute 'jailbait' are featured at JailbaitGallery.com.
  • Humility is a psychological state, that is the opposite of dominance. Humility allows one to see the intrinsic value of others (as opposed to only extrinsic value), and is therefore the largest factor of empathy. A person with humility therefore sees minors as having intrinsic value, as contrasted with being objects of domination, which they are mostly regarded as being by the laws and practices of the status quo. Like dominance, humility is an innate psychological trait.
  • 'Attitude' is a vague word that implies a sort of emotional irritability and random anger.

People with dominance-asserting cognitive pathology are inclined to delusionally perceive all opposition to their sense of dominance as 'attitude', regardless of all evidence to the contrary. Consequently, many dominance-asserters are fond of the word. Said willfully delusional perception of 'attitude' may be called 'attitude delusion'.

  • Adult supremacism is the unspoken-of tyrannical ideology of the status quo, that is derived from the psychological desire to assert dominance. In the case of adult supremacism, minors are systematically used as the objects of dominance.
  • Dominance is the underlying emotion, and related willfully delusional mindset, that underlies the behavior of asserting dominance over minors (people under 18 years of age). The psychological polar opposite of dominance is humility.
  • Parenting is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood.
  • Time-out is a form of punishment in which the child is required to take a break from other activities and be idle. A "time-in", in which the parent spends the time-out talking to the child, is a proposed alternative. It is not clear if this is a step in the right direction, or if it is just the same old time-out, except accompanied by the parent. At least this way, the parent has an incentive not to punish too often, because that's a lot of time to spend hanging out with one's kid rather than doing something else.
  • Suicide is becoming increasingly common among children. Over the last decade, the suicide rate among young children has increased dramatically. In 2002, suicide was the sixth leading cause of death of five- to 14-year olds and the third leading cause of death in preteens. Suicidologists are alarmed that children as young as age two are also increasingly attempting suicide.
  • Depression is an emotion some children feel as a result of their being thoroughly beaten down by rulers who deprive them of autonomy, forcing them to instead submit to adults' commands concerning even the most minor details of their lives. Most psychologists, of course, blame it on something being wrong with the child rather than with the people who rule over them. Depression can sometimes lead to suicide. In Japan, one elementary school child in 12 suffers from depression.
  • Lenore Skenazy is an American columnist who was described as the "world's worst mom" for letting her nine-year-old son take the subway by himself. Her actions resulted in a flood of reactions ranging from accusations of child abuse to fond memories of first-time subway trips and childhood freedom. The story was covered on The Today Show, Fox News, and MSNBC two days after the column appeared, later becoming worldwide news and being featured on Penn & Teller: Bullshit!. The surrounding fanfare led to the creation of the Free-Range Kids blog and a book, Free-Range Kids, published in 2009 by John Wiley & Sons. On the blog, Lenore proposed May 22, 2010 as the first Take Our Children to the Park & Leave Them There Day as a day for children to learn how to play by themselves without constant supervision. Skenazy also became the host of the reality television show World's Worst Mom on TLC International.
  • "No" is a word that is sometimes used by children and other sovereigns use to assert their boundaries and decline proposed activities they deem objectionable; and which is at other times used by aggressors to communicate what another person will not be allowed to do, despite his having every right to do it. Classical liberal theories concerning self-ownership, property rights, and non-aggression argue that it is ethical to defend one's life, liberty and property, but not to interfere with others' equal right to enjoy theirs. It has been argued that the word "Yes" is meaningless without the right to say "No," but it could also be said that the word "No" is meaningless without the right to say "Yes."
  • Spanking, when practiced as a form of discipline against non-consenting children, is a degrading form of aggression that, like the beatings inflicted upon slaves in the 19th century, is inflicted upon those who have been rendered defenseless and trapped in their situations by the legal system. It is a cowardly act in that is only attempted against those over whom one wields an overwhelming advantage in size, force and other forms of power. It is notable that people often stop striking their children around the time that they become old enough that they could attempt to resist.
  • The passing of a competency test is a controversial criterion for children's being allowed to exercise the same rights that adults enjoy. One potential problem is that the tests could be used to disenfranchise rather than enfranchise, much as the literacy tests administered in southern states were used to keep blacks from voting. It would be necessary to figure out what questions should be on the test, what answers should be considered correct, and how many questions would have to be answered correctly in order to pass. All of these decisions would be subject to influence by the political process, which in turn is influenced by many interest groups that don't necessarily have children's well-being and liberty as their primary goal.
  • The pledge of allegiance, written in August 1892 by the socialist minister Francis Bellamy, is a non-binding oath that the government has schoolchildren recite for purposes that are unclear. Perhaps the reason is that there were few other captive audiences of the size of the government school population that could be compelled to participate, or maybe the government wanted to make sure it got people to promise allegiance early in life, before they had the opportunity to do much of significance. The pledge is in seeming contradiction to the government's usual philosophy concerning children, which assumes they are not ready for weighty responsibilities.
  • Children have as much of a right to vote as adults do — no more and no less. It is questionable whether voting should be done at all, since the right to secede can adequately protect people's other right. In a free economy, normally voting is done only by stockholders, while the customers vote with their feet, taking their money to a competitor if they do not like the services rendered by the company they have been patronizing.
  • Children's right to work for those employers with whom they can make voluntary contracts is one of the cornerstones of children's liberation. It enables those children who prefer to give up some leisure in exchange for the products they can buy with their wages to do so, and thereby gives them at least some freedom relying on the handouts of others. This enhances their independence and mobility and therefore their safety by enabling them to escape from undesirable circumstances. The benefits of child labor for the children involved are not new; classical liberal economist Ludwig von Mises writes of the Industrial Revolution, "It is a distortion of facts to say that the factories carried off the housewives from the nurseries and the kitchens and the children from their play. These women had nothing to cook with and to feed their children. These children were destitute and starving. Their only refuge was the factory. It saved them, in the strict sense of the term, from death by starvation."
  • The Case Against Adolescence, by Robert Epstein, is a book that, because it only argues that adolescents are not children and therefore should be given more rights than children, provided they can pass competency tests, has been criticized by classical liberals as not proposing reforms radical enough to bring about the degree of liberty that young people should have.
  • Cook with Amber is a cooking show starring 10-year-old chef, TV personality, and 5th grader Amber Kelley. The goal of the show is to teach people with little or no cooking experience, such as children, how to safely cook healthy meals. Cook with Amber has been featured on YouTube, The Today Show, and local TV news programs, as well as The Wall Street Journal and other newspapers. Her "Nummy No-Noodle Lasagna" won the 2013 Healthy Lunchtime Challenge for her state and she was praised by Michelle Obama for her work. According to The Seattle Times, "She does it all with chipper, unforced cheer, plus the occasional goofy take or deadpan aside, and with the kind of genuineness that only a 10-year-old can display when giving in to the irresistible pull to hold a banana-phone to her ear before turning it into a health-friendly 'fronana' dessert."
  • Kanban is a system children can use to improve their productivity by organizing their tasks. The system involves creating three categories of tasks, "Ready," "Set," and "Go." The "Go" category is the task the child is currently working on. The "Set" category contains the next three tasks that will be worked on after the current one. The "Ready" category is a backlog that can contain any number of tasks.
  • The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), a paternalistic affront to children's economic liberties and freedoms of speech and association masquerading as a form of child protection, whose unintended consequences risk causing serious harm to the Internet and endangering the rights of adults as well, requires that companies obtain verifiable parental consent, with limited exceptions, prior to any collection, use, and/or disclosure of personal information from persons under age 13 and provide a reasonable means for a parent to review the personal information collected from their child and to refuse to permit its further use or maintenance, among other requirements. COPPA is highly controversial and has been rightly criticized as ineffective and potentially unconstitutional. Delays in obtaining parental consent often result in children moving on to other activities that are less appropriate for their age. In addition, age restrictions and the "parental consent" process is easy for children to circumvent.
  • Comparative advantage is a principle of economics that is significant for children because it proves that even if, because of their lesser quantity or quality of knowledge, skill, experience, physical strength, and other attributes, they are less efficient at every kind of productive activity relative to an adult, they can still make valuable contributions to their households and the larger economy. For example, consider a situation in which an adult is a freelance computer programmer who earns $200/hour at his job. His young son is relatively small, weak and awkward at handling a rake, and therefore requires four hours to rake up all the leaves in the backyard, while his father would only require two hours to do the same job. Furthermore, the boy does not know how to program a computer. Thus, his father is better at every task in this scenario than he is. This is known as an absolute advantage.
  • Magazine-Fashion is an online distributor of fashion magazines featuring pre-teen models. The site appears to have some sort of affiliation with good-models.net and in general appears to be part of a ring of similar "no nude" sites that link to one another and whose banners, thumbnails, etc. often are aggregated together on various sites. The broken English used on the site is sometimes almost incomprehensible.
  • Aggression is initiation of force to deprive a person, such as a child, of his rights to life, liberty or property. Children may encounter a wide variety of aggressors, such as parents or schoolyard bullies who lay hands on them without permission, or government officials who impose restrictions on children's self-ownership (e.g. by infringing their right to work, to consume what substances they wish, etc.)
  • Gun ownership rights, when exercised by children, can be a source of enjoyment and of protection from aggressors who might otherwise take advantage of children's relatively small size and physical weakness. Laetus-in-Praesens notes that not only adults but also children are citizens and as such have a right and responsibility to help defend life, liberty and property. In modern times, children have only been allowed to possess toy guns, which are inadequate to the task: "Given the recognized importance of educating children for democracy, use of more authentic weaponry by children could be expected to engender and instill a more authentic and responsible understanding of democratic processes and their necessary checks and balances." The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution contains no mention of an age restriction on gun ownership.
  • The Youth Rights Network is an organization with a rather informative defunct wiki that is still accessible through the Internet Archive.
  • DreamHost is the free speech webhost used by ChildWiki. It has also hosted Libertarian Wiki and its successor, Libertapedia, as well as some racial-supremacist sites, most notably the American Nazi Party. DreamHost does prohibit websites "dedicated to the discussion of hacking activities or the distribution of hacking tools". This webhost has a theoretically unlimited hosting plan, although the owners note that if one's site consumes too many resources, "you may be asked to sign up for your own DreamHost Private Server." This webhost also has a rather comprehensive, publicly-accessible, open-edit and copylefted wiki, upon which the webhost heavily relies for documentation. DreamHost has been listed by Lifehacker as one of the best five webhosts. It has also been recommended by Encyclopedia Dramatica. A "Draw Mohammad Day" site hosted by DreamHost was targeted by a distributed denial of service attack on 20 May 2010.
  • NearlyFreeSpeech.NET is a rather quirky free speech webhost that has existed since February 2002. NewgonWiki and Americans for a Society Free from Age Restrictions are hosted there. NFSN uses a complicated pricing system and a pay-as-you-go payment system that allows users to prepay as much money as they wish to fund the account; the system then debits that balance daily. If the account reaches a zero balance, then the website is deactivated until the balance is replenished. The site charges for bandwidth by the gigabyte (with the marginal price diminishing as bandwidth increases) and for storage by the megabyte-day, in contrast to the more usual practice of charging a flat rate for unlimited hosting or for a certain maximum bandwidth and storage. The host also charges pennies per day for certain services (e.g. dynamic websites, DNS, MySQL) rather than the more usual (sometimes refundable on a prorated basis) per-year charges for additional services. The webhost thus can be quite cost-effective for small websites with little traffic, especially if they only have static content.
  • Americans for a Society Free from Age Restrictions, also known as ASFAR Youth Liberation, is an organization dedicated to increasing the rights of youth under American law. The purpose of ASFAR is to "defend and advance the civil and human rights of young people through promoting the elimination and reform of laws that limit the freedom and self-determination of young people in the United States, and empowering young people to act on their own behalf in defense of their rights and freedoms."'"sociated with the youth rights movement, which advocates more freedom for young people and protection of their rights under law, in order to allow them the greatest degree of self-determination possible. As of November 2003, the organization's website at NearlyFreeSpeech.NET had stopped responding to requests.
  • The philosophy of the children's liberation movement is an ethical system founded on the belief that the overlapping ideals of liberty, justice, tolerance, social equality and personal responsibility, should be applied to all people without regard to age.
  • Justice, one of the core values of the children's liberation movement, is fair treatment that respects people's rights. Thus, it overlaps strongly with the other core values of liberty, social equality, tolerance, and personal responsibility. Issues involving justice include the treatment of children by the juvenile justice system; the laws that allow parents to arbitrarily administer corporal punishment when he judges that his child has behaved inappropriately; the zero-tolerance policies of taxpayer-funded school systems that severely punish students for minor infractions; and so on.
  • Liberty, a core value of the children's liberation movement, is the freedom of individuals from outside compulsion or coercion. Philosophies such as that of the child liberation movement that seek to maximize liberty by protecting the individual's freedom of action over the use of his person and property are called "liberal." The flip side of liberty is personal responsibility, the requirement that individuals bear the costs of their actions unless others volunteer their resources to rescue the person from those consequences. Liberty is noticeably absent from the agendas and value systems of many movements that claim to be concerned with children's rights.
  • The status of children as a politically weak group is the difficulty children have influencing elections and legislation, including those that will have a direct impact on their lives, liberty and property. It accounts for a large part of why there is so much age restriction against children.
  • Eastern Europe is a region of the world that is the source of many videos of teenage nudists.
  • Social equality, a core value of the children's liberation movement, is a principle that holds that all people are entitled to equal rights to their life, liberty and property regardless of age. It does not mean that people are necessarily equal in intelligence, wisdom, or any other ability or attribute. People do in fact differ in their capacity for using available resources in ways that will produce satisfaction. Children often lack some of the ability that adults have to act in ways that will bring about desired benefits; e.g. a child may be too weak to do heavy labor on a construction site, or may be unskilled in the advanced mathematics required to design a jet aircraft. Child liberationists hold that a child still has the right to attempt such tasks if he owns resources that he wishes to devote to those purposes, or if someone has resources he is willing to place at the child's disposal.
  • Personal responsibility, the flip side of liberty, is the principle that each person is responsible for the consequences of the actions that he chose to take, and that others should not be forced to render aid if his actions impact him negatively. This concept has been twisted by some governments that seek to also blame a person for the government's responses to his actions. E.g., people say "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time", as though the person who commits a victimless crime is wrong to blame statists for his incarceration rather than accepting personal responsibility for his fate.
  • Novel arguments are arguments that an individual has just come up with and which are being implemented, or presented for adoption by others, for the first time. Mankind's intellectual progress depends on such ideas. Initially at least, each new idea will have only one supporter, viz. the person who came up with it. Accordingly, ChildWiki does not dismiss new ideas or disallow their being voiced on the basis of their not having yet gained wide acceptance among the public or members of the child liberation movement. The work of generating and analyzing novel arguments is often undertaken by intellectuals.
  • Tolerance, one of the core values of the child liberation movement, means showing deference to others' rights to engage thoughts and behavior one may personally oppose, but which do not infringe anyone's rights. The child liberation movement favors people's manifesting tolerance toward everything except intolerance itself. There is a difference between holding and advocating a belief that children should not be freed, and using force to prevent children from being freed.
  • The children's liberation movement (also known as the Children's Movement, Children's Liberation, or Children's Lib) refers to a series of campaigns for reforms on issues such as children's educational choice (including freedom from coerced homework), child labor rights, children's gun ownership rights, children's sexual self-ownership, and the right to run away. The movement's priorities vary among nations and communities and range from opposition to compulsory child marriage in one country or to curfews in another.
  • United States federal laws concerning child pornography specify severe penalties against which some judges have been rebelling. There has been some debate about how harshly child pornography offenses should be punished. Jack B. Weinstein of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, for example, has argued, "We’re destroying lives unnecessarily” and that “At the most, they should be receiving treatment and supervision.” Some judges have been departing from the sentencing guidelines; for example, Judge Michael A. Ponsor sentenced a man in 2010 in Springfield to four years of probation, though prosecutors asked that he serve the 6-to-8-year sentence called for by the guidelines. Families Against Mandatory Minimums has also expressed concerns over the mandatory minimum penalties established for these offenses, arguing that they sometimes result in absurd sentences, such as a 15-year sentence in a case involving a victim who consented and was of legal age to marry the offender. One of the main criticisms of the reasonableness of the child pornography guidelines is that the steep enhancements they provide apply in nearly every case and almost always boost the sentencing range to the higher end of the statutory range.
  • Urban Dictionary is a website that allows users to submit definitions and examples of words, including slang words. It chronically rejects submissions that portray pedophilic interests or adult-child sex in a neutral of positive light, but accepts submissions that portray those things in a negative light. For this reason, the definitions of NAMBLA all express condemnation of the organization, and many words with relevance to the childlover community, such as "family fun", remain undefined on the site.
  • ChildWiki is the children's liberation encyclopedia that anyone can edit. This site hosts articles, essays and other material concerning the philosophy, culture and activities of the global movement to establish liberty, equality, justice, tolerance and personal responsibility for all peaceful people, regardless of age. Readers are welcome to contribute research and novel arguments that will further the search for the truth.
  • The search for the truth is the effort to learn what information is correct so that it will be possible to know how to act in ways that will produce desirable results, or at least to have a greater understanding of the universe. ChildWiki, from its inception, has declared the search for the truth to be its paramount objective. All other objectives, including short-term political or tactical advantage, are as a matter of site policy to give precedence to the superordinate goal of finding the truth and helping others find it. Those groups that uphold this principle will hopefully be rewarded with a good reputation that attracts people interested in truly constructive dialog.
  • nicechild.net is a site with a large number of photographs of prepubescent boys, often in briefs or speedos. There is a sister site, beautifulkids.net. As of 31 January 2014, the site was returning a message of "It works! This is the default web page for this server. The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet."
  • The non-aggression principle holds that people should refrain from initiating force, fraud, or threats of bodily harm against others, and that the only time when bodily harm is ethically permissible is in defense of life, liberty or property against an aggressor. According to libertarian thinkers, there is no other basis upon which a free society can be built; and without freedom, there can be no happiness. ChildWiki endorses the non-aggression and self-ownership principles as guiding principles for human interactions since they produce superior results compared to the alternative, paternalism.
  • Candid-HD is a company that distributes high-definition video of nudists, especially teenage girls. Most of the footage is shot in Eastern European settings, including Russia, Crimea and other Black Sea countries. Usually, there are no men in the videos, although the unseen cameramen are at least sometimes men. Occasionally a prepubescent girl, such as a toddler, is seen. The films usually have background music such as Western popular music or what seems to be Eastern European folk music. The nudists engage in a wide variety of activities such as body painting, aerobics, nudist pageants, and games such as pin the tail on the donkey. The site appears to have a number of knockoffs with similar logos, such as Nudist-HDTV, Nudist-HD, and Bare-HD. It is unclear whether these have any affiliation with Candid-HD.
